A BILL to amend article two, chapter eighteen of the code of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated section seventeen, relating to education; state board of education; and study of technology programs for remediation to be project for high schools.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That article two, chapter eighteen of the code of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, be amended by adding thereto a new section, designated section seventeen, to read as follows:
ARTICLE 2. STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION.

§18-2-17. State board study of technology programs related to remediation programs for high schools.

The state board shall review programs developed in the state of Colorado and other states that called for funds to be set from the budget for special education for teacher preparation andstudent orientation in the technology programs for the present and in the future and shall make a report to the Legislature with appropriate recommendations by the first day of December, one thousand nine hundred ninety-four. Any such recommendations shall include the allocation, from the budget for special education, for remediation to be the project for the high schools in this state.



NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to require the State Board of Education to study remediation technology programs for projects for high schools and the allocation from the budget for special education for teacher preparation and student orientation in the technology programs for the present and in the future for such programs.
